How much is too much?

Hey everybody I'm just looking around, trying to pick up tips for modding Fallout 3. Lets see the last bit of real modding I did was making a few guns using existing models and textures for the first Stalker and before that i tried to make levels for the original Theif when I was like 14. Failed horribly. Now I got this giant world blueprint that I drew for no reason one saturday at nine in the morning. And I did cities and stuff too. And stories. So as a totally irrational BS hobby I'm gonna start trying to mod my own world inside the fallout 3 engine. I figure I can finish by 2012.

Well if you have the motivational capacity to learn the trade of modding very quickly, and most likely extensive outside help from other members... you'd probably have something along the lines of a beta by the end of '09 maybe early '10

BUT, if you're just posting that with little-to-no modding experience and barely have the drive to learn/practice/seek help, than chances are it will be a project with a limitless end date.

If i had the skill to help I would offer, but all I have is advice at your disposal.

Basically, if you have the drive/skill-set to do it, you will get it done. If you don't care about it that much and see it as a "once in awhile" kinda thing, chances are a project of that magnitude would never be truly finished to what you envision, and most likely far from it (in a bad way).

Anyways, I hope my constructive critique on the idea helps at all.
