LordJerle
Okay, I had to recover my hard drive, everything else works fine, except Oblivion. I know it's a mod because I disabled my mods except oblivion.esm and it loaded fine, and this didn't happen til AFTER I recovered my data, so I know it's not just a mod conflict. Basically, here's what I'm asking. Is there some sort of utility to check mods and associated files for corruption, so instead of having to remove all my mods and reinstall them, I can simply reinstall the bad one(s)? I know Wyre Bash checks headers, but I'm looking for something that checks the rest of the files as well, or do I have to start unchecking mods to see which one crashes the game? For all of you who go OMG LOAD ORDER PLZ, even though I've already stated it's not a mod conflict, reread the above. Draco856
Use TESedit, then use the function, check for Errors, it may or may not help you, but it's worth a shot. If all else fails, find your largest mod, and reinstall that one. If it wasn't that, move to the next largest, until you find the offending mod(s). It may be your only solution. LordJerle
For all of you who read the post I just had up and am overwriting, disregard.Found TESEdit, downloaded it, ran it, loaded the mods, here's the error I'm getting[00:05] Background Loader: Fatal: <EAssertionFailed: Assertion failure (P:\TES4Workbench\wbImplementation.pas, line 10171)>That's from an uninstall and reinstall of oblivion. any ideas? (And yes, I did extract it before running)
bben46
My first guess would be something in the Windows registry got lost or corrupted in the recovery.Unfortunately, the uninstall, or reinstall on the disk does not remove old registry entries (or a lot of other stuff) and they can cause problems. Here is a link to my recommended uninstall/reinstall procedure that does clean the registry entries. http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibr.../1446421/1/#new
