sepier
does anyone know where i can find a good silmarillion mod? preferably one that not just adds new npcs, and weapons, but also has new landmasses, say valinor, the undying lands would be perfect. or a numenore mod? if not does anyone know where i can get a second rate mod that i can personally work off and improve to a great mod? if not that will someone help me to start off the landmass ourselves? i have a few great ideas for a silmarillion mod, or a numenore mod, or both together. but my biggest obsticle is i suck at makeing good landmasses, that can follow the map, and look good at the same time.for those who are interested i will tell alittle of my ideas.im a huge tolkien fan so i know what im talking about if any of it gets alittle bookworm nerd like. -it would be cool to have a landmass that follows a few of the maps i have from the net, almost to the exact detail (which wont realy be taht hard, once i got the basic shape of the land, and the hills about right.-it will include some vast forests, with trees that are pretty near each other(which will induce lag forcertain on lesser pcs)-the halls of mandos i picture as some caves that go very deep, with mabe some deadric structures in them, blue mist, and some friendly ghosts wandering.(that dont talk)-each of the valar will have their own place (dictated by the book) and their supergod stats- which if i tie the story of morrowind in, it would make the morrowind gods equal to the maya, or the second gods, similar to sauron, and gandalf.-i will add a few new races, such are each of the three classes of elves, and some maya (which are semi gods, but with toned down stats of course, mabe i could do a maya apprentice or something).-i will add the star shaped island of numenore just east of it, all being far east of vhardenfel.-one port wil lbe in each, just like in the books, and make khuul, and sayda neen transport them.-everyone in valinor will be unfreindly but accepting to every race but any form of elf. numenore same but with man. both will be so unfreindly toward orcs that they will attack on site, unless certain conditions are met, just like the vampires.-an idea for those certain friendly conditions could be using the same idea as the vampirism diseas, only say elf friend for valinor, and valiant man, or something for numenore, however both will not effect stats in any way.-i plan to add some of the legendary figures from the silmarillion in the land. such will definantly include feanor, and his sons. and mabe a representative or morgoth somewhere wandering vhardenfel.- a whole line of new elvish, and numenore weapons and armor.-definately quests ranging from simple familiar errands from individuals in both numenore and valinor. and some more backbreaking quests that will be similar to those in the book, mabe not exactly some, but some that could fit into the story around the same time as some of the events, that mabe even some events in the silmarillion will depend on.-and a VERY WIDE assortment of dialoge, that i will only place on individuals in the two new landmass, all of which will have something to do wih events, or people, or whatever in the book. definately some down to the bone facts, that lotr nerds are always very picky about, to add to a silmarillion atmosphere.-many more plans for a great mod.-all this will have a complicated, and deeply woven tie to the main morrowind story, to avoid another cheesy, has nothing to do with morrowind quest structure. i will stop here, before i end up with three pages for one post. Rynos
I guess Ill say it right now... Im not trying to be rude im gonna give you a hard fact... Drop the idea. A) You need a reliable team... I cant tell you how many projects Ive seen (even with a fairly good team) start strong and die within the first week or so. B) As a Tolkien fan, I think half your ideas are horrid. If you want to be true to professor Tolkien's works you must have major revisions and loose the whole, "ill tie it into morrowind", thing, among some others (like any races besides elves going to the undying lands). C) Copyrights. Unless you wish to dishonor international electronic laws and steal others work as you say,"a landmass that follows a few of the maps i have from the net". Then go ahead. These are just a few of the things that screw up your idea.... Plus you dont have a website, a forum, or money to host a website and forums (Im guessing as I cant see you older then 10 or 12, no offence). I sorry but this is reality... kiss your goals and dreams goodbye as they wont do you any good. Drop the idea and get over it. Otherwise; try to start your mod... see what will happen in a few weeks time...
