How to cleanly uninstall Nexus mod manager?

Hi,

 

Having a problem installing NMM in that the first time I ran it from an external hard drive and when it asked for the correct path to install mods to, I think there were three, it was auto filling in the path to the pocket external drive which is what I don't want! So I uninstalled and selected remove configuration files and reinstalled and its doing the same thing again! Manually entering the correct hard drive has no effect as I get a red exclamation mark and it won't let me continue. What to do?
