Stryfe23
I always noticed something while searching for a certain mod, or type of mod. When I whould search a word, it would often come up with no result. And even when I eventually found an appropiate mod, it would be a version of the word I queried. Example: I searched "kid" = no results, but when I find a mod, the word "children" was in it...? Couldn't the search engine put together the two words, or even suggested mods with similar wording? Kinda limits finding mods, when you have to already know what th mod is called...
buddah
Probably not. but it is based on the GIGO system. What ever you put it in is what it will search for....it does not do it by definition it searches for what you type, so spelling does count. Hateful_kat
Maybe a tag system would have its use?So that the uploader can add more keywords related to his mod, to make the search more relevant, or something, I don't know.
buddah
Increasing the search parameters world have an extreme effect on the sites functionality, the more criteria in an individual search the more assets it takes to process the request. The assets of the site are finite in nature so increasing the search parameters there would have to be changes elsewhere to accommodate the increased demand. But there is already a tag search function on both sites, from any page you will see the search bar, under it are two options.....advanced search and tag search, you can also search specifically by category as well. play around with it, it is quite a good search engine but remember the gigo system still applies. Unless I know the exact title of the mod I am looking for, I use the advanced search and use various keywords in the title and description to find what I am looking for.
