Apparently the AI in that game is programed to switch to a melee weapon when you get in range. I thought "Holy crap that is some smart and obvious game design for a game that mixes ranged and melee combat". Can you see where I am going with this? Cyberpunk goes out of its way to set up a "fully fleshed out melee system" in the tutorial which never gets used because almost all the NPCs only use guns. This means that you either get cut down as you try to rush an enemy or stun lock a them and destroy them with no challenge if you get close enough. I realize that CDR probably didn't include more melee enemies in the game because they didn't fix the melee system before release, but it would be nice to see how it plays anyway. I'm no modder, so I'm not sure how practical it would be but: Could someone make a mod that gets the AI to switch to a melee weapon when you get into melee range? That way melee builds actually get some real melee combat (It might also spice things up for people who get too close when running and gunning). Alternatively, if someone has already made that mod can you comment what it is below? I've looked through the list and haven't seen anything along those lines.
