Premise for Overwriting things all ready in containers?

In case the title gets cut off....Is there some sort of premise with the CS that overwrites everything?

------

I want to know so that I can save my items before I add things to my custom containers. Also, does moving a container that may or may not have items in it result in a loss of items if any are in the moved container?

So you want to know if a container in the game removes any items placed in it? That depends. For a container to remove items, one of these two conditions must be true:

1 ) either it's base object needs to have the "respawn" flag checked or

2 ) (probably unlikely) a script somewhere calls "RemoveAllItems" on the container.

So when creating the custom container, make sure the cross in the "respawns" box is removed. If you have created the container as a new object, there won't be a script that uses "RemoveAllItems" on your container.

Moving a container does not remove the items in that container. You could move the container to the other side of Tamriel if you want and your items will be waiting there for you.

Okay, thanks. Now I have another question...is it possible to put too many containers in one area? Cause I have 4 containers and 1 item that keep on disappearing on me. But in total, I have maybe 25 others give or take one or two in the same area.

I don't think you can have too many containers in one room. I have created a mod with 20+ containers in one room and no one has complained of disappearing items.

Not items inside the container, an item that is outside the containers, it's a key made to open a hidden safe in the room. I also just checked, and I have approxamitly 59 containers in this cell. The majority of them focused in one area.

The area where they should appear on top of the small dresser:

Now that you mention it, my brother once complained to me about items he placed on a table in my basement disappearing. Unfortunately, I have no idea what causes this and I have not been able to replicate this in my game.

Well, I was able to fix the containers thing...I had inadvertently set it for the "X" marker in the Vile Lair which made it be disabled until I bought the bedroom upgrade, but I had all ready bought it, so it stayed disabled, I just removed that reference, and it works now. The key however still doesn't, I'll figure that out, but it was probably the same problem.
