purelink113
Hello all, I have recently downloaded the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE), and I have installed it manually as is instructed. When I open the game and press "Continue Game" the game crashes to the desktop a few seconds into the loading screen. I deleted the SKSE folders from my Skyrim and Data folders and tried the SKSE Installer, but the results were the same. Also, when I run Skyrim and am on the main menu through the SKSE launcher, I use the console command "GetSKSEVersion" and it says that I have the latest version installed, yet when I tried activating the SkyUI mod after this, NMM said that I had to install SKSE first.Does anyone know how to fix these problems? I really need this tool to install some essential mods such as SkyUI, and I've looked up countless troubleshooting videos on Youtube and Google. but to no avail. Some information that may help:- I recently re-installed Skyrim after destroying it with mods, so please don't ask me to re-install it- I have all DLC's excluding the High-Res Texture Pack- No mods are currently installed- I have NMM installed (obviously)- Skyrim folders is in Program Files (x86) instead of a separate drive- Latest version of Skyrim and NMM is installed PS. I have launched Skyrim through the provided SKSE launcher, without any mods installed and it still crashes. artificialsloth
Are you using a save from before you re-insalled the game? If not just a shot in the dark but try disabling one of the DLCs then see if it will load.
purelink113
I'm using a new save, everything Skyrim-related on my PC was deleted to destroy all the corrupted files. I will try disabling the DLCs, but I need them for a few of the mods that I plan on downloading that require SKSE. Thanks for your help.
Jord159
I know it sounds crazy but when I had a similar issue I found just simply logging out and back into steam stopped the ctds. I have no idea why so don't even bother asking.
purelink113
That didn't wok for me, I've logged in and out of Steam multiple times over the past five days trying to make the SKSE launcher work, but it just doesn't. I'm fairly certain that the problem doesn't involve Steam at all. Thanks anyway.
coolkid0814
i just love how every time you find a forum with someone who has the exact same problem as you from years ago its never actually resolved.
