xDLGx
What's the best way to downgrade from 1.5 while waiting for Bethesda to fix their crap?I just want to downgrade, load a pre-Broken Steel save and turn Broken Steel off for the time being. Is replacing the exe file enough? If so where can I get a 1.4 exe that'll work? I've got the Steam version of the game.
deckel11
Reinstall the game and then patch up to the version you want. Reinstalling won't remove any mods you already have installed, or your save games (as long as you select NO when prompted). You can find all the patches here on Nexus; better that way than going to the trouble of using GFWL or Bethesda's auto-patch from the website. I recently reinstalled, patched up to version 1.0.015 (when VATS still worked properly), and added Fakepatch by JunstinOther and the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch by Quazzy. I'm now playing Broken Steel with only occasional glitches (which seem to be common whether you're using the 1.5 patch or not). There's really no other or quicker way to do this, that I'm aware of. Have to reinstall.
xDLGx
Was hoping to avoid reinstall, as that means downloading the entire game again. Also wouldn't be surprised if the version you get from Steam now is 1.5 so reinstalling would be pointless.

I've heard that steam installs v1.5. :(

After reinstalling I went back into my last saved game but the v1.5 glitches were still there :wallbash:
Maxunit
I have finished Broken Steel now, have a shitload of mods installed and fallout 3 liked to crash rather often. I think those are mod-related crashes. I re-installed it with Patch 1.4 and UFP3 and when I tried to load my last save, it always crashed -.- I still had all my mods installed tho... Now I'm going back to version 1.5 including my old setup, which at least worked somehow.
xDLGx
My game in unplayable now, I rely on several mods that are victim of the non-persistant bug Bethesda screwed up. I crash on everything I do, almost. Should get a court order preventing Bethesda from patching their games post release, nothing good ever comes out of their patches lol

After reinstalling I went back into my last saved game but the v1.5 glitches were still there :wallbash: I don't know what to tell you, unless you can tell me exactly what you did. Which glitches were still there? After reinstalling, which version did you patch up to? Did you use FakePatch (and UF3P)? How did you activate your DLC BSA's? For that matter, did you move the BSA's from the XLive directory to the Data directory?
