P1NK N1NJ4
i wanted to make a mod so when you shot a special hunting rifle, it played peter griffin's laugh. unfortunately, i couldn't find the sound effect anywhere (to download at least), so i opened up windows movie maker and recorded it. the only problem is, i couldn't save it as anything except a wma file. so will it work if i use a wma? if not, can someone tell me how to convert it to a wav or link me to a wav of peter griffin's laugh? thanks. bekru
total recorder is a small prog that will do the trick, you can record wavs/mp3s/whatever you need (with the appropriate encoders) with it from any input source. Last i checked it was pretty freely available although that was several years ago. other products along the lines of adobe soundbooth, acidloops, and then the higher end DAW's will also convert/save to a wide variety of audio formats. Though copies may be harder to come by, or more expensive at the least.
BadPenney
I don't think Fallout 3 uses .wma files. Voices are .ogg files and sound effects are .wav files. I have been able to get .mp3 files to work as voices. I use a version of Sony SoundForge for recording and converting files. I don't know who Peter Griffin is, but I may be able to convert your .wma to a .wav if you can attach your file to a pm to me. Wait. Does this work? Found the file at this address: http://www.e-subversive.net/soundboards/familyguy/ It looks as if you can right-click that attachment, select Save Target As and download the .wav. It could be used as an FX.
