Commrade23
If not a request, then im just asking. I know many of you guys like the anime themed animations with the double swords and spell singing and all. (Those are cool by the way!) But what about that brutal medival combat, not the flashy side kick , then blackflip off a wall. (Mabye an acrobatic charicter can do that) What happend to those special animations a big bulky warrior, or a crazed barbarian should have? Has anyone made an animation mod like this, I would do it but I have no idea how to mold models on the construction set. The wiki says somthing about downloading, then it just gets complicated. If there is no mod, and no one is really going to make a down and dirty realistic animations for medival combat, is there any tutorials that I can get my hands dirty with? This isnt a bash post on how I dont like the anime-themed mods on here, I just want somthing brutal, kindof like Deadly Reflexes but more grounded and rough, like how a human in a large suit of armor would act. Oh and this is my first post, nice meeting you guys, hope you guys are nice as I hope you are. :thanks:

I definantlly agree with you, most of my characters are generals in various armies and guilds, with full plate armor on, and I want brutal, classic medevil warfare animations, in war, flash means nothing, its all about mutating and destroying the enemy, by any means. minion5
haha, yeah me too. I already contacted the guy who did the flashy animations (he seems very skilled) and asked him to do some brutal medevil animations, but he never answered. And I would take a crack at it, but I as well cant find a good REALLY simple tutorial for createing animations. I guess were out of luck :(
Commrade23
Agg, I just tried too, animating seems alot like somthing you get a degree on, I bet that guy got his skills from colledge. Kyross
Deadly Reflexes mod. I use v5, and there are chances for some awesomely gory deaths. i.e Swords can decapitate enemies or run them through while stunned, blunts can smash enemies skulls everywhere(never personally seen this one) arrows can peirce lungs and more or less crush their chest and...I don't even know what i was doing in hth, but it looked like I ripped the guys head off bare handed. Reldarin
The problem with creating animations is that you must create the animation frame by frame and then make sure it works with each model. The way many of the animation modders do it is by finding free motion capture animations on various sites (I don't know where to get them) and the importing them into Oblivion with a mod or simply replacing the existing animations. Your best bet to get something like this done quickly would be to search for free mocap animations and see if you can find a tutorial or someone to help you with the importing process. I would imagine that with the number of fantasy and medieval games in existence today, you might be able to find what you're looking for fairly easily. Hope this helps...if you can find them, let me know and if you're having trouble I'll see if I can't try my hand at getting something like this set up. It might be neat to have a mod that makes it so that Acrobatics-primary characters use the more "anime-style" animations while those players who don't use Acrobatics as a primary skill or those who wear heavy armor use the more medieval style animations. hex0ff
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17909 These ones are particularly good and much overlooked. I've been trying to contact the author because I'd really like to use some of them to replace the DMC stylish ones I used in Unnecessary Violence, for exactly the reason the OP discusses. Unfortuantely the author is unresponsive and the readme clearly states 'no redistribution.' It's a shame really - UV would have been a nice way to let a *lot* of people use his work.
