Stryfe23
Back when I was all into modding Oblivion, there was a utility, OBMM, or Wrye Bash, that allowed you to convert ESP (plugin) files to ESM (master) files. Without any knowledge of whats out there, is there a utility that can do this for Fallout 3? And what are the possible negative consequences of having all ESM files instead of ESP's? I'm thinking as a temporary fix to the "persistancy" issue with the 1.5 patch. I currently can't reinstall, and the only thing that got me re-interested in the game was getting all 3 of the DLC together, but now I can't run certain player mods with patch 1.5. If the above questions aren't answerable, could someone recommend the best combo of patches (Fake, 1.0.15, 1.4, UOFP) that'll work with Broken Steel with most features still accessible? Cipscis
You'll want to use FO3Edit for this. It's a very useful tool for things like cleaning plugins, and allows you to easily change flags within the file header including the ESM flag. The only real issue of using only ESM files is that the "master files load before plugin files" will no longer be enforced so you'll have to be a little more careful about managing your load order.
