New game wont work

They are complicated because you make them complicated. It is simple - put in the disk, select uninstall. This removes the Oblivion.exe (the actual game) file. AND changes an entry in the registry where windows keeps track of things.

If you try to install, and the entry in the registry shows the game is already installed, it stops to prevent you from screwing something up.

So, if you just delete the Oblivion.exe, it still shows as installed in the registry. You must somehow change the entry to show Oblivion.exe is no longer installed in order to reinstall it.

Read through the procedure and find the part about cleaning the registry.

Note: You MUST shut down and restart your computer BOTH before and after running the cleaner program.

The alternative is searching the thousands of entries in the registry for anything relating to Oblivion and removing each one individually. And the risk of making a mistake that will either make your computer unusable, or some other program unusable. As well as the possibility of missing an entry and still not being able to install Oblivion.

Instruction for using the procedure:

Read it all the way through before starting. If there is some part you do not understand, ask.

follow it step by step - in order

Do not skip any parts, do not attempt to change any parts unless you really know what you are doing.

If it dosn't work, or you do not understand part of it, please let me know with as much detail as you can so I can make it better.
