edgewriter
I have fallout for the 360 and just bought it for the PC over the weekend. I have a 2.4 gb intel processor, 1gb of ram, a newly installed 8400 gs graphics card and windows xp. I kept getting crashes every 5-10 minutes. So I read around the boards and uninstalled fallout 3, cleaned the registry, defragged my hd, restarted the pc, reinstalled fallout, patched up to 1.4, installed the fake patch and now it runs for 10-15 minues before crashing. I don't know what is happening but I do know that there is a lot of hesitation in the game as I move about. When it crashes I notice that Fallout 3 is using over 500 mb of memory. Is low memory most likely my problem? What am I overlooking?

edgewriter
It is one year old. A dell Optiplex 330. I had to upgrade my graphics card to get fallout to work. I am going to buy another gig of ram later this week and see if that helps. Are there any software programs that are known to interfere with Fallout? I have had a window of Firefox open when I start playing. I have tried and shut down all other applications while I run it. I might have a window of explorer up since I have been adding mods.
