prolefeeder
A while back I saw a mod that shortened the range of the pitt and anchorage distress beacons (so you would have to the dc ruins to hear the outcast signal and up by fort constantine and such to hear wehrner's signal), and, presumably, you'd have to get within range of the signal to start either quest. I don't like getting barraged with three new quests on a new game when I step out of the vault, and I found the whole wasteland-wide broadcast of distress signals a little bit less-than-immersive. (Three Dog can't get wasteland-wide unless he has a dish on top of the washington monument, but defender morrill can with a small beacon and wehrner can with a small tower?) But in my stupidity, I didn't download the mod and now that i'm looking again I cannot find it. I believe it was here on FO3Nexus, but I don't know if it was removed or what. (I also can't remember what it was actually called.) Anyway, I can't find it, so could someone either point me in the right direction or make a mod that does what I described? prolefeeder
If it helps, the description mentioned something about an achievement remover.

I'd just make one myself. While you can't adjust the strength and range of the signal ( because it isn't really a radio signal ) you should be able to select which worldspace cells allow the signal to be present. Decide the range you want and map out a roughly circular list of cells around the point of origin. Most of the radio transmitters in the game are very short range. There should be clues in those transmitter functions.
