When I try to run Skyrim, after the launcher, the game goes to a black screen and does not start. sometimes I get the error of 'TESV.exe has stopped working' when I get the black screen I have to restart my whole laptop because there's no way I can get the black screen to go away This laptop is brand new so I'm confused if there's something I need to install to get the game fixed or to work AMD 3020e dual-core processorWindows 11 Pro 64-bitAMD Radeon Graphics8 GB of RAM256 GB SSD
LostForrest Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 (edited) Go to your Program Files (x86)->Steam->SteamApps->common->Skyrim->Skyrim->Remove prefs.ini file. If the problem is related to the start up process this might fix it. Skyrim will create a new folder on start up. If that doesn't work try to go to the platform where you got your game form. On steam you can go to settings and have steam check your game integrity and restore if errors are found. Edited December 11, 2022 by DarkBlade13
