Anyway.......game installed & updated to 1.7 Live Disabled4gb patch successful implementationFOMM in placeFOSE 1.2 beta 2 in situjust the Fallout .esm in Data.ini file modified archiveinvalidation mod thingy activatedjust the antistutter to put in when I understand how to do it properly ( big cheesy grin here) Edited December 8, 2013 by pawzseven
surg23
Morning, oh goodie you have done all the boring stuff already. Oops! accidentally hit enter. :O Yep, you can set FOMM associations with BSA'a and FOMOD if you haven't done so already. (geez you think someone else would have chimed in to answer that one for you. How is the game playing so far, please say it running well ? Edited December 8, 2013 by surg23
surg23
Oh right, the anti stutter. this is what to do with it. After you install FOSE it will create a folder in : E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\Data\fose\plugins (you need to extract the files into the "Plugins" folder. If no such folder exists create it. If everything is running well and stable, we can move on to installing your core mods. Just a reminder to disable all auto saves again. Will keep updating this with info on installing FWE and other mods. Edited December 8, 2013 by surg23
pawzseven
first problem... nothing in Data ( this is not a Steam version btw), there is no fose or plugin folder in the Data folder. All it has in there, apart from BSA's, is folders called Menus, Music, Shaders, and Videos. The instructions in the fose readme are - 1. Copy the .dll files and fose_loader.exe to your Fallout 3 directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder, and should contain files called Fallout3.exe, FalloutLauncher.exe and the G.E.C.K. (if installed). so I did that. Haven't installed GECK yet. So they are in the game folder, not in Data. what have I done wrong, or not done? If I click on the fose launcher it starts the game, and yes, that is running fine. I am out of the vault now and kicking my heels in Megaton. Autosaves are off. in an effort to solve problem and seeing that FSR has a data folder with fose and plugin folder in there, I have put that Data folder within the games Data folder, is that right? I can easily take it out if not. Won't do the next bit (below) until you say this OK Edited December 8, 2013 by pawzseven
surg23
Assuming everything is running well, our first task is FWE. There are three separate archives you should have: FWE_Master_Release_6-0_-_Part_1-2761FWE_Master_Release_6-0_-_Part_2-2761FWE_6-03a_HOTFIX_PATCH-2761 Now create a folder somewhere and name it FWE. Extract all content from archive part-1 and part-2 into this folder. (in that order) Overwrite files and merge folders. Next open up the HOTFIX archive and extract all of the contents to the FWE folder (overwrite all files when prompted) very important. When all that is done, open up FOMM > go to Package manager (don't login) >create Fomod - Add folder select the FWE folder you created and drag all its contents to the files pane. Add a file name and save location and create it. Since this mod comes with a FOMOD script it will guide you through which features you want installed. I recommend only installing these features: http://i.imgur.com/SGqB5nt.jpg This should ensure stability. (note only install "Followers enhanced" if you have Broken steel DLC)
surg23
If the Plugins folder does not exist, just create it. The directory should look like this: Fallout 3 goty\Data\fose\plugins You need to copy all the stutter remover files into the Plugins folder you just created. Also note - Do not install files or features for DLC content that you don't have. If you have all the DLC content then install what I have suggested above. surg23
Moving on to RH ironsights mod. We will be using the same method for pretty much all these mods that have multiple archives to work with. You should have two files for RH: RH_IronSights BETA-6938-09xBETARH IronSights - FWE Bridge-6938-3 So again create a folder somewhere called RH - Extract all content from "RH_IronSights BETA-6938-09xBETA" then extract all content from "RH IronSights - FWE Bridge-6938-3" (Overwrite files) And repeat the FOMOD creation used for FWE. (After these have installed Toggle Archiveinvalidation) Edited December 8, 2013 by surg23
pawzseven
Thankyou surg I am not sure I have done the stutter thing correctly. See last post from me.I don't got a game of the year folder ( goty), never had one. This DVD, so can I ignore that bit of the path?I do have the three files for FWE specified and will follow those instructions now..... I shall not include MothershipZeta, don't got that one. OK , THINK I have got FWE in correctly - saw a progress bar after activation which I do not recall seeing before. I guess I need to put the expansions on now as I have ticked for those in FWE. I am getting tired now, so will so the iron-sight one tomorrow surgthank you m'dear, your help is greatly appreciated Edited December 8, 2013 by pawzseven

Yes, you can ignore the "GOTY" - its just your main Fallout 3 folder. What!?! You don't have the best DLC there is for Fallout! Tisk tisk. :)
surg23
Once those are installed, run a test game (start new game) You won't have to go through the Vault now with FWE installed. It has alternative start. Play around and try to stress the game out a bit, fast travel around - enter and exit cells - make sure Iron sights is working for a few weapons. Make sure mod modules in your Pip-boy are there and working. Hopefully everything went ok and we can look to adding other non-core mods. Here's a small list of must have mods. DCInteriors_combo Edition-5573-2-7Arwen_Reduced_XPR_2p2-7674FULL NMCs Texture Pack part1The IMAGINATOR for FO3 - Visual Control Device-16875DIM TYPE3 CONVERSIONS V32-6073HiRes Weapons v3_1-481FelloutDragonskin Tactical Outfit v1_1_1-10183-1-1-1Existence 2.0 When and if you want to install these, you should use roughly the same packaging process for each mod. Some can be tricky as they have update archives not structured for FOMOD use. Sometimes you need to play around with the directory structure. But I an guide you through installing these if you have any trouble. Edited December 8, 2013 by surg23
