Hi everyone! I'm sharing this post in hopes of gathering data for my graduate project due in the spring. Any help, comments, and reshares are appreciated!

My name is Jarrett Hanks and I am a graduate student under the direction of Professor Carradini at the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University. I am conducting a research study to identify major technical issues in three video game titles that were deemed unsuccessful, by a majority of users, until later patches: Fallout 76, Cyberpunk 2077, and Battlefront 2.

I am recruiting individuals to answer 14 questions about technical design in video games, the transparency that companies should have with players when making design choices, and what you enjoy or don’t enjoy about your experiences with gaming. Players will also be selected at random in a follow-up usability study that involves participating in pre-planned tests revolving around these proposed titles. The interviews for this study will be conducted before the test, as well as after assessing your experience with the current version of the game.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. The interviews and usability test, if chosen, will take approximately 60 minutes. These interviews and usability tests will also be audiotaped per your approval. Recorded material will be stored via Google Drive or DropBox. Your participation in this study is voluntary. You must be 18 or older to participate in the study. If you have any questions concerning the research study, please contact me at: [email protected]
