Larias
I am going insane. I've tried multiple methods. First, I verify game cache on Steam to make sure any previous edits go away. Then I load the XComModHelper and the text in my cmd screen says "Patch Successfully Applied [ Read DefaultGameCore.ini from Config Folder ]. Then I edit my DefaultGameCore.ini in my D:\steam\steamapps\common\xcom-enemy-unknown\xew\xcomgame\config\ folder and I change Kevlar to add 7 HP so I can test the game. I turn steam to offline mode and I already have my edited hosts file that says # Prevent XCOM Phone Home 127.0.0.1 prod.xcom.firaxis.com 127.0.0.1 65.118.245.165 127.0.0.1 prod.xcom-ew.firaxis.com 127.0.0.1 65.118.245.139 I load XCOM EW and start a new game - and nothing is changed. There are no files in Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Within\XComGame\Logs other than launch logs. Anyone have any idea wtf is going on? _ I've also tried starting on a clean install and using ResourceHacker to edit the .ini file in the program itself - and there are no changes. rilke1987
I'm not using Modhelper but my best guess is that the right path of exe hasn't been appointed when you were using the modhelper. Further more, if you just need the game to read DGC.INI. I suggest a manual modification of exe file by hex code which could be easily learned from wiki (down currently). Pls check if the change of DGC.INI is correct the easiest way is to change the rookie's ability range or change the continent bonus of Africa from 30 to 50. Larias
I changed the hp bonus from Kevlar to +5. i changed the HP for soldiers to 8. I changed the HP for sectoids to 8. I changed all continent bonuses by increasing them by 10%. This is on D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\XComGame\Config\DefaultGameCore.ini This after personally hex editing the 58 to a 57 on D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW\Binaries\Win32\XComEW.exe Steam is in offline mode, hosts is modified, and steam automatic updates is turned off. I start the game in Steam, choose Enemy Within, and the continent bonuses are not changed, my soldiers HP is 6 (normal), and sectois have 3 hp. I'm typing things out as I do them. This is all I have done - exactly what I have done. If I missed a step, please let me know. __ My log file in \Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Within\XComGame\Logs says [0008.49] DevHTTP: FHttpDownload request (/ew/Dict.ashx?keyz=XComGameCore.ini) started[0008.52] DevHTTP: HTTP POST payload sent, waiting for response[0008.52] Error: 404: Failed to GET the requested file: http://prod.xcom-ew.firaxis.com:80/ew/Dict.ashx[0008.52] DevOnline: TitleFile XComGameCore.ini Download Failed Showing that it is not downloading. Krazyguy75
Was it the first or the second 58? The reference to the ini shows up twice.
