SSE Interactive Map & Notes

I've been juggling an idea in my head for a few years and decided to finally ask...

 

I always thought it would be a great idea if an "Interactive Map" mod were made. Something akin to MapGenie or even Piggyback as examples. Now, the map is practically there already in these terms, but I was thinking about adding to it. More specifically, the ability for players to annotate personal notes and even the ability to create separate markers for each note.

 

Or, as a secondary thought, perhaps the ability to click onto a marker that already exists (let's use Dragonreach as an example). Simply by clicking on Dragonreach's marker opens a drop box where players can then add their own notes (items to find, easter eggs, or whatever). I believe it possible to simply create a text-like file that stores these annotations too.

 

For further flavor, I thought it would be interesting to utilize some of the map markers already made, but here's my thought: Use the standard "Black & White" map markers for discovered locations. Then perhaps it can flip to a colored marker after the player adds a notation.

 

I have also thought of possibly making the markers change color once all internal quests within are fulfilled. Possibly add an 'asterisk' as a visual indicator? That way, players will be able to easily locate areas that still have unfinished business.

 

Alas, I am no modder and have NO idea how to do any of the brilliant mods the rest of you come up with. But I just thought this might be a really good tool for players to use; as well as an idea that many games could utilize in the near future.

Yep, it's possible. I don't know how to do the note aspect, you'll need someone to make a skse plugin that handles the text, but the rest of it is pretty easy. I did it in one of my mods with my teleport location map, it's a scaled down version of the worldspace pieced back together painstakingly(the world is in chunks).
