Item on Death?

Is there any way to add an item on death to an NPC? I'm making a mod where you can take any NPCs ear if you have killed them, but I can't seem to find any way to do this. I've added an ear to their inventory but you can steal or buy it off them. :S

Create a leveled list with your ear item in it, and then create a perk with an Add Leveled List On Death entry point and select the list you put the ear in. Add whatever conditions you want to apply to the target (such as GetIsCreature==0). Then add the perk to the player.
