Archiving loose textures. Desperately in need of help!

Ok so I have been trying to turn all of my loose texture files into BA2s in order to get good fps and shorter load times but I cant for the life of me figure it out. Ive followed every guide out there and still feel lost. Ive made BA2s from archive2, made individual dummy esps for each one, Ive tried adding them manually to my ini file, and nothing seems to work. Most of the time I end up with missing textures and no difference in load times or fps. I always move my old texture/meshes/materials folder somewhere else so Fallout doesnt load those instead. Can ANYONE give me an in depth step by step process to get this to work? I will literally PayPal someone $20 Im desperate :(

1. Make sure your Fallout4Custom.ini has these lines:

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

2. Open Archive2, drag and drop your textures.

Textures' file path: Data\Textures\( custom folders and textures ). E.g., Data\Textures\Interface\Objects\LoadScreen\Overlay01_d.DDS.

3. In Archive2, navigate to Archive >> Settings... >> Format >> Click "General" >> in the dropdown menu, choose "DDS" (instead of "General") >> Click OK to save archive settings (note that settings get reset upon closing the application).

4. In Archive2, click File >> Save As... >> name your BA2 archive.

As for the filename, let's you'd like to compress the textures of a mod named "MyMod.esp", it should be:

MyMod.esp

MyMod - textures.ba2

Notes:

- While archiving textures is recommended, it doesn't improve fps (though it helps with texture loading in-game, depending on your storage drive).

- If the game is on a fast storage drive, you won't notice too much of a difference in loading times by archiving loose files.

- You don't have to pay to get answers. :smile:
