Sudden Slow Game Performance

Recommended Posts

A true reformat does get rid of viruses, along with everything else on that hard drive. But reinstalling from a backup or streamlined DVD can put them right back on. After a reformat reinstall the Operating System from an original DVD, then immediately install an antivirus before allowing it to start downloading the Windows updates. Windows will insist that it be allowed to update - but be firm. The Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus is a fairly good one and is free. Scan any backup media you have for viruses ( back up hard drives, Server drives, USB sticks, DVD drives etc. and clean them before reinstalling anything from them.

this might be a silly question but maybe you psu is not providing enough power or a connection is loose, do you have a multi meter to check the power of the psu?

-hmmm...I did not consider power supply a problem. Maybe it do needs checking. Maybe it does add my performance problems. I'll go check it out when I get home. :ermm:

-Nah! It's not a silly question. You gave me a suggestion. A new problem which is good! because as I diagnose it later, It will add to my learning experience!

-I did not know how hard it is to maintain a desktop than laptop. :pinch: My laptop is 5 years and counting.

- I'm not really updated of the happenings. I was confused what modhatter6811 said about the "viruses cannot be deleted". Thanks for the Info Mr. Moderator

- I do have "Microsoft Security Essentials Anti-Virus" and do agree that it's "fairly good".

I downloaded the GFORCE experience with NVIDIA drivers, that allows you to capture video shadow play... This application does that automatically! it detects all games in your hdd and adds the ideal profile settings depends your graphics card.
