Treborious
Interface Suggestions ED3 had a decent interface, but here are a few suggestions I hope the developers might take into consideration. 1. A keyboard command to exit menus/conversation/journal/books etc like SPACE or ESC.2. Be able to lock screen (with CTRL) then moving the mouse over objects.3. In combat, targeting specific body areas using the above method might cause additional effects until the target is healed such as: loss of mobility, skill (armor, weapon, cast), unconsciousness etc that might be caused by a blow to the head or weapon arm.4. List total weight for a group of objects, my fantasy is not to do math.5. Sort items by weight/value/damage in inventory.6. Select items/spells as favorites then scrolling through them would only list those favorites.7. Be able to purge spells.8. Containers.9. Lock on to target. Would help limit friendly fire. The distance you could lock on might depend on a skill (“Eagle Eye”). You could still attack if not locked on at a disadvantage. Another perception skill could warn the player if and which NPC has locked on to them. “You get the feeling the guard is watching you.”10. Waypoints – By clicking on a map, the player could create a path. Switching back to the main view would cause the player to walk along that path. Being attacked or other events might stop movement along path.11. Auto pause on some events like getting attacked.12. Better quest management. Be able to sort quests by assigned, last step completed, Involved NPC, Name (of course), location given, status of quest (assigned, questing, completed, ignoring). Be able to mark quests as ignore, so they do not come up in quest queries.13. Maximize icon on windows. If multiple windows are open, use arrows to cycle through windows and maximize them.14. 3d Maps – especially for indoor locations.15. Indicate nearby items on maps, especially people and creatures.16. Buy maps. This would fill in a grayed out image on overhead map which would change to a colored image once the location is actually visited. The bought map could be inaccurate or misleading.17. When training a skill, show how much of that skill you have.18. Stay in training menu after training, or be able to select how much you want to train. Reduce repetitive clicking.19. On repair/unlock allow a shift-click which would automatically repeat attempts until successful or item being used is destroyed.20. Make persuasions less repetitive. If you have a skill of 10 then you could only increase an NPC attitude by 10. Of course bribes and gifts could still be used, once for each amount category.
