Karwyll-The Quest for truth

Traxis took a step forward. "Traxis", he said. "Davanír of the dwarves, Traxis of the humans and Erunanion of our kind", one of the elves said. "A strange party indeed", said another elf, slighty older than the first. "I am Venith and these are my brothers, Vethol and Nathél", the first elf said and pointed at two of the others, both very tall and proud-looking. "I am Ethillen and this is Lagána", the older elf said and pointed at a young woman. "We are the guardians of this part of the forrest", Ethillen said.

On whose behalf do you guard the forest? Your own, or do you serve some master?" Erunanion surreptitiously adjusted his cloak and hood, and stood at his full height, matching the group in radiating Elvish brilliance.

"We serve the nature and we serve ourselves", Ethillen gestured around the glade, "But we were told to go here and wait for you three, then we were to take you to Lladíen when you arrived." Davanír looked very suspicious about these five elves. "Now what's Lladíen?", he asked. "You need not worry, Davanír, it's an elven city close to here and it's much safer than sleeping out tonight", Venith said.

Traxis is very uneasy about mixing with too many elves but relieved that they do not intend him to farm. He is not very good with crop rotation and animal husbandry.

He says: "We have only just made the decision to come out here and we were on our way - elsewhere. What do you mean you were told to wait for us? Do you read minds or foretell the future?"

"We cannot tell what the future holds, the Elders can, they sent us here to pick you up", Venith said and smiled. "Now please join us to Lladíen, we cannot let you sleep in the forrest tonight", he said and whistled. Out of nowhere came 8 white horses, shining like stars, all very tall and proud.

Ethillen gestured towards the horses, asking the travellers to get on. Davanír was somewhat reluctant at first, but as as the smallest horse came up to him, laying down for him to get up, the dwarf crawled onto the horse. "I'm not sleeping out in the forrest again", he explained.

Erunanion looked at the horses, and their riders. "I am perfectly willing to spend the night under the stars, as i have on countless occasions." Despite this mild protest, he followed Davinir and vaulted into the saddle of the nearest horse.

The five elves slid onto their own horses with ease. Ethillen turned around towards the two brothers Vethol and Nathél. "Go back, see if they're still after us", he said in elfish and quickly eyed Erunanion. The two brothers turned their horses around, and in a split second, they were gone. The rest of the party started their trip across the glade, not hurrying anywhere.

Erunanion noticed the look, and while they were riding tried to move his horse closer to his companions and further away from their escort. When he felt they were out of whispered earshot, he said, "Keep your wits about you, i do not wholly trust these people, my kinsmen. In this city of theirs we will be under constant watch, i am sure. I have never heard of this hidden city in all my years."

Davanír turned to Erunanion with a confused look, obviously thinking very hard. "I'm sure you're right, friend", he said and observed the three elves in front of them. "If they show any intention of harming us, I don't care if they're kings of the whole world, I'll take them out", he muttered and scratched his chin.
