draighox
2. I understand, that three best games are EQ2, WoW and Lineage 2? What are the main differences between them?
wesaynothin
All for WoW. I've heard asome bad things about EQ2. But WoW, as some said, is verrry laid back. I am dealing with school, including 2 intensive classes, and am still close to the 40's. (Then again, I've been playing since release, so I'm moving pretty slowly.) The graphics are nice, but graphics arent everything. The community is nice (generally), the quests are intriguing, and the locations are diverse. Personally the only thing I find lacking is a player-based economy (a la FFXI).
Slaiv
Well, here's your chance to try one of them. The EQ2 beta is now available to the public. Get it here. You need to register at FilePlanet, and sign up for the free trial by June 1st 2005. Your account lasts till June 1st 2006. That's a whole year - mind you, it's not the whole game, but it's a way to get a good idea of what EQ 2's all about.
Dark0ne
The Isle of Refuge isn't exactly the most exciting place, and you won't get to see the biggest wonder of the game, the two capital cities, but it'll definately give you an insight into the game's mechanics and visuals. wesaynothin
Definetly downloading - Suddenly EQ2 has escalated enormously in my book. Anything that lets you play a year for free must be really good. or suck so bad they need to give that chance to people so they get stuck paying when they dont realize it... loveme4whoiam
Its published on the PCZone coverdisc at the start of March, so ill get it then. With regards to Eve Online, i can say with some degreee of certainty that is a very, very good game ONLY if you fall in with the right crowd. Ive been playing the trial for five days now, and have done three large-scale operations with other groups - two of these were run very well by a nice bunch of people. The other was a fiasco, run by morons and ego nuts. The learning curve is pretty steep, especially if you wish to be a combat player as the starting ship you are given is absolutely useless. My advice would be too talk to as many people as possible and ask questions. Most of the people playing will gladly answer newbie questions; a couple of veterans hang around on the newbie channel looking to help them - the community of Eve is a nice one, generally speaking. Anyway, ive been convinced to actually shell out money on the game, and if it can pry £8.99 a month out of my bank account then it must be good. Its a nice alternative to EQ2 and WoW, but i think that if you own X2 single-player, you might not need to bother with this - the games are pretty much identical. Dark0ne
I never liked X2; plastic graphics, plastic economy, poor combat. I hope it isn't like X2 to be honest!
loveme4whoiam
The combat takes place from a different perspective. I havent delved into the heart of the economics yet - the basics are quite simple but if you want to go into a merchant or industrialist role its quite complex. The graphics in EVE are nice and shiny - the Exodus expansion really upgraded them. Its a nice community game, but i havent yet really got into the lone game yet. Just a section of the game - it's not exactly intended to be a full "trial", so to speak, as those usually include the whole game for a week or two. Rather, it's meant to give a feel for the game, its graphics, and its mechanics. EDIT: I have finally played EQ2, and I can safely say that if I were to get one of the two, it would definitely be Everquest. Based upon my experiences in the WoW beta, and the Trial of the Isle sections of both games, I've changed my mind - I would definitely get EQ2 over WoW. In fact, I'm probably going to. I'll let you all know if [when] I do, just in case you have/are going to purchase it.
