RobCo Quest problem

I can't seem to install the processor widget in the mainframe!?

I managed to hack the mainframe and then I come to the terminal screen and hit the program. It then said insufficient power supply or something along those lines. So I couldn't get the protectrons up and running to complete the mission.

 

I tried going behind the mainframe, clicking beside it. But I just can't install the widget inside!! I disabled any terminal related mods but its still the same....

I've never actually tried to control the Protectrons, but I would imagine you would install the widget THEN hack the mainframe...

RobCo Production Facility Mainframe

 

 

 

 

Main Objective: Install the processor widget in the RobCo production facility mainframe.

Optional Objective: Hack the RobCo production facility mainframe

 

You have (humorous) special dialog options when speaking with Moira for this quest if you previously obtained The Mechanist's Costume.

 

You must travel to the RobCo Facility and install the processor widget in the mainframe. The mainframe is on the very top level. If you came here previously to complete the Mole Rat Repellent quest, the first area will be really easy because most of the critters will have already been killed.

 

Warning: The robots, when started, will be hostile. To complete the optional objective, you need a Science skill of at least 50. You have to hack the mainframe you just started up and deactivate the third protocol that makes the robots hostile towards you. Of the other two available protocols, the first orders the robots to clear the area of Radroaches while the second 'stress test' option makes them attack each other as well as the player (very helpful for landing killing blows on them then looting all the energy weapons ammo they drop).

 

Tip: If you are unable to hack the terminal, using a Stealth Boy and sneaking past the hostile robots can make for an easy getaway after installing the widget. But if you fire a gun (to kill a robot and farm parts, for example), other robots who see the attack will attack you.

 

Note: After activating mainframe all corpses of Protectrons in the factory will be refilled with energy cells and scrap metal. Don't activate before looting. Grabbing any inactive Protectron to move it will cause that robot to not become active later, so to maximize loot do not grab any robots before activating the mainframe.

 

Easy Simple Way If you don't feel like wasting your time with killing or sneaking past all the Protectrons, but want to get the optional quest complete there is a very simple way to do this. You must reprogram the mainframe to become hostile towards you; however, once you have done so you can cease this and any other security tests. This will complete the task and also have the Protectrons friendly towards you.

 

Alternatively, if you have the Robotics Expert perk, you get the option to just tell Moira about the technology in question, successfully completing the quest AND optional objective immediately, however you must get the perk before you start the quest otherwise you don't get the option and have to do the objectives as normal. Moira will reward you with some Pulse Grenades if you complete the quest, and a Big Book of Science if you complete the optional objective

The problem is, I don't get a menu or pop up asking me to install the processor widget. I go up to the mainframe, and the only thing I'm able to do is to hack it.... (I have the processor widget by the way)

hmmm weird have you got a save just before you enter ?

 

most times that will fix the quests

go back and see Moira see if the quest is done also

I quicksaved before I entered the mainframe offices, saved before I entered RobCo. Both to no avail.....

 

I don't think the quest is done either since the robots don't get activated without the widget. It just says no power or something. I tried seeing if there was a <lie> to be made, yeah apparently theres none and the quest is still incomplete.

ok let me look into it i have a char that has not done that quest yet, i will redo it and then i can see what you missed out hmmm , ic you said no power i think you have missed something.......

Well, so far I haven't even got an answer.

Maybe if someone teaches me how to post the mod list I could post mine and people could check it out to point out the problem?

If you have FOMM, right click near any .esp and select "copy load order to clipboard". Paste in post.

Ahh, my mod list is really long so if you guys don't want to bother with this its fine with me. Since I've pretty much almost given up on the wasteland survival guide quest. It's just one quest....

 

P.S. the creator of the garage base mod said the door also had no power and this garage is located just outside RobCo. Oh I forgot to say, the creator said in FAQs that FOOK might have caused the door to say no power, I have a theory which might be that FOOK messes with the Mainframe as well?
