ghsmith
This is my fourth or fifth time playing through Fallout, and it's the first time I've run into this problem. I got to The Republic of Dave, and all the buildings were fine except for the house where you go to meet Dave. Instead there was just the big red box and exclamation mark for a missing mesh. I've tried re-installing in case I had accidentally deleted a mesh at some point. That didn't solve the problem. I suppose it could be a mod conflict, although right off I don't see anything that should affect that mesh. I haven't run into any other missing meshes anywhere else in the game, and have never had this problem in any of my previous play throughs. I'm not using any of the DLCs, and am only using the 0.0.15 Official Patch along with the Fake Patch and the 1.1.3 Unofficial Patch. I've included my mod load order here as setup by FOMS. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ghsmith
Well, it turns out that the problem is the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch. I uninstalled Fallout and began reinstalling it one item at a time. The Official 0.0.15 patch was alright as was the Fake patch, but as soon as I installed the Unofficial patch, the building disappeared. When I uninstalled the Unofficial patch everything was back to normal. I then installed all my mods and texture packs without installing the unofficial patch, and everything remained fine. Again, as soon as I installed the Unofficial patch the building disappeared. Looking back, it occurred to me that all the previous times I have played Fallout 3, I did so prior to the Unofficial Patch, which explains why I never saw this problem before.
