Kazakovich
Let's face it; the vanilla Khajiit-textures is a bit dull, aren't they? Great thing there's mods out there to replace them, then. Slofs Khajiit Retexture looked great, so I decided to have a look at it. However, me an the textures don't get along very well. The thing is, the male Khajiits would keep their regular texture on the legs and feet, and would swap the homemade one when you unequipped a certain piece of armor. So if I unequipped the wristirons, for example, the regular texture would appear on his hands. The bodymod I'm using is Robert's Male Body ReplacerV4, with the nude textures. Because, hey, Leyawiin needs more naturists. It's installed properly and everything. I'm also using Robert's Female Body Replacer, and I did manage to get the Slof-textures to appear on the female Khajiits properly, with the Robert-mesh and all. No such luck on the males, however. First, it was just the regular Khajiit-texture that showed up, then, after I renamed the textures to the ones that the game seemed to be using, I just got the pink/purple missing texture-colour we all learnt to hate. But now, I've managed to make the right textures to appear. Problem is, they're out of focus, low-res and generally weird. This is the result so far: http://www.tesnexus.com/imageshare/images/...-1243202390.jpg Is there some step I've overlooked or something else? I'm running out of ideas by now, so please, lend a hand if you've seen this before and think you can help. ^^
Frodric
I would first doublecheck that nothing is overwriting them. Also download the new versions immediately if Slof posts them. The second thing I would do is hope she reads this.
darkjaffar
So wait. You are equipping items like, for example, the shirt you start with at the beginning of the game and noticing that the arms are the original Khajiit texture? As I understand how Oblivion's engine works, things like shirts replace the entire upper body when equipped. That is, the shirt isn't placed on your body and arms, your body and arms are removed and a new body and arms with a shirt on it takes its place. Because things like short sleeves exist, shirt models that show skin(or fur, I suppose) come with arms. Because when the shirts were made originally were based on vanilla, the arms attached to the shirt will be vanilla as well. Same goes for any armor or clothing that shows skin. I could be wrong with this understanding, as I am too artistically challenged to ever mess with this kind of stuff. It sounds to me that this is the problem. Check to see if armor/clothing packs for Slofs Khajiit exist. They will probably be similar to vanilla, but the armor/clothing will use her base, instead of vanilla's. Kazakovich
It can't be any mod-conflict; I decided earlier on to purge my Oblivion, and reinstalled it from scratch and have it all done properly. The only other mod currently active is Robert's Male & Female. Except for that, everything is still vanilla. My grand plan is to make sure all the bodies and textures are working before I start pouring in all the other mods into it. I'll keep an eye on the update-page, just in case. Allthough I don't think there's something wrong or missing with the mod itself. Well, maybe it just have a deep, personal grudge towards my PC? :P The problem is actually reverse; with clothing equipped, the textures looks just fine, at least the upper body and hands. But when you remove the equipment, the textures become weird again. Also, the tail, feet and lower body are always in that low-res texture state. Deepblue686
First of all, never rename the textures. That's probably why the whole body has a messed up texture now. Second, try installing the vanilla body version of Slofs texture and then install the roberts body extra file.Next make sure you have the correct clothing replacers, search for "roberts body" or something along those lines and find the correct replacers and if you're getting a pink texture, make sure you have the archive invalidation updated (recommended to use OBMM)
BossDweebe
When you started (before renameing) were the textures correct when nude ? If so you need Sen Chen's - Robert Muscular Stock Clothing & Armor. This replaces all the vanilla meshes with new ones rigged to RT's body mesh. The UV maps are different on all bodies, and this is what causes the texture scramble. If a character has hands on his shoulders when wearing a vest then this will fix the problem. You may not have noticed on the females, but the same is true, and you will probably want a stock clothing and armour replacer that suits RT's female as well. This applies to all NPC'snot just the Khajiit. Meanwhile - re-install the mod with the orriginal file names. EDIT: Only install the textures from the extras/robert male folder. You will still want the eyes from the main Textures folder as well, but don't use the others. What ever you did to get the female working should work for the male. The photo you uploaded has the lines running vertically, they should be horizontal.Below is Slofs Khajiit with RT's Beer Belly. .
Deepblue686
I didn't even know there were any armour/clothing replacers for RT's female body.and BossDweebe, you basically just said what I said.
BossDweebe
I didn't even know there were any armour/clothing replacers for RT's female body.and BossDweebe, you basically just said what I said. Yes I did, but I elaborated in case there was still some misunderstanding.I also thought the photo would be instructive as Kaza seems to think the texturein his photo is the correct one for the body, and I didn't suggest installing the vanillaversion. Not to contradict but, I would think the vanilla dds files should be pulled as they include a footmale dds file which could be the source of his problems. Of course if Kaza were to install the vanilla again, and everything works then he must have his RT male meshes in the wrong place. So it would be a good test on that level. Equally the esp may be getting overwritten by another mod that changes the body path back to vanilla. That made me think of asking... KAZA -do you have any companion orrace mods ? If so load the male body replacer after them. I don't know if there is a stock replacer for the female either, but as you know, with out onethere will be scrambled textures with revealing clothes and armour.I use EXNEM/HGEC so I haven't looked. Deepblue686
You can use stock clothing and armour for robert's female body but a replacer would make things fit better. With racial texture replacers that include body versions as well as textures for the vanilla body, I would always install the vanilla textures first and then the body mod versions just incase the armour I have doesn't have a replacer. Kazakovich
Thanks alot for the help guys. It deffinetley ratteled by skull a bit and gave me some new ideas. But unfortunatley, the texture/mesh/sloftexture situation was such a goshdarn mess that I decided to have it all purged again, now that I don't loose anything important. So this time around, I'll get i done properly. So in wich end should I start? Should I install Robert first and then the textures? And how do I do it without messing it all up again? Yes, I know, I'm a big dummy who needs someone to hold my hand while installing anything, really. ^^ Again, thanks alot for the help so far. If I was a bit more of a computer-wiz, I'd probably gotten it right by now thanks to you. Oh, BTW, what's the name of the mod with the bearbelly? Fat-cat need a belly to live up to his name.
