Question about installing mods

I'm not new to modding MW. My question is, when installing a mod that says "Only Morrowind required" under compatibility and requirements. For example: http://mw.modhistory.com/download-15-442

 

So does this mean that it'll only work on the main island of Vvardenfell. Does it mean that if you have Tribunal and/or Bloodmoon installed it won't work?

 

Same thing with mods that say Tribunal only or Bloodmoon only. What does this really mean? I've been putting off installing mods that say this because I hate backing up and restoring the game and reinstalling the hundreds of mods I already had installed.

Some players don't have tribunal or Bloodmoon installed. For them they only need mods dependent on 'Morrowind.esm'. If the mod depends on Tribunal or Bloodmoon, it won't work.

 

Morrowind.esm is required for both Tribunal and Bloodmoon. but not each other. So you can have four sets of installations.

1. Morrowind Only
2. Morrowind and Tribunal
3. Morrowind and Bloodmoon
4. Morrowind and Tribunal and Bloodmoon or GOTY edition

 

So 4. don't have any problem. They can play with any mods as they have all the ESMs required.

 

3. and 2. can play mods which depend only on respective expansion but not mods which depend on both expansions.

 

1. can play mods which depends on only morrowind.
