Greetings. I've already posted this question in the modding section a while back, but I guess it's more related to Skyrim in general.

I remember getting the answer I needed right here on Nexus forums almost a decade ago, but now all those old topics are gone and I can't google the solution I need.

Anyway, I do remember there was a console command that would allow to easily change the type of armor (like from heavy to clothes etc.) in-game.

The process, as far as I remember, was that you had to open console, click on the piece of armor you wanted to change to get its ID, and then you had to type some sort of command including the ID of the item and voilà -- now it's the type of armor (light, heavy, clothes) you want. There's a slight chance I'm confusing that this was possible in Oblivion, but I'm nearly 99% sure it was in Skyrim.

Does anyone know what kind of command it was? Thanks.

There doesn't seem to be any such console command in the base game. It could possibly have been modded in somehow.

The only console command that can affect armor is to enchant an object - playerenchantobject

Based on the console commands listed on UESP.
