Burr
Anyone like these games? Reception was definitely polarized, love it or hate it. I was among the former. These games are still my most favorite RPGs, and I have a lot of memories exploring the dark and brooding game worlds. I also appreciated the laid back, yet challenging gameplay and completely seamless game world. They were truly epic adventures. These are real RPGs: immersive and rewarding and it's a shame that there are no more in the works. They probably won't make any like this anymore, much to the relief of those who didn't like it. I am currently revisiting The Ancient City and loving it all over again. For those who have a Ps3 there is currently a game called Demon's Souls in the works, the "spiritual predecessor" to the King's Field series. Apparently it's due out in October... although judging by the trailer it predictably won't have a whole lot in common with the old games. Anyone care?
Chaosblade02
I love the King's Field games, back in the day when I got my PSX when it first came out Kings Field was one of the first games I decided to buy for it. I think the game is very original and challenging. Your first playthrough you really didn't know what to expect around the next corner. King's Field 2 was even better I think, the game was put together much better and also was twice as big. These games are kinda non-linear too so you can choose to go somewhere you really shouldn't be yet and reap the rewards if your bold enough to try and lucky enough to survive. There is a trick I figured out in Kings field 2 by mistake that lets you get to the earth cave sooner than you should be able to. I slipped and fell one time near the fountain my accident, and there is a lava river below, and I held back and X. and was actually pulling myself back up, so then I just used sidestep to work my way around to the area where the cave is at, its tricky, save before you try it. I also own the Kings Field: the ancient city for the PS2, I don't think its as good as King's Field 2, but its a welcome addition to the series, I liked how you could level up the individual spells, and that they finally added dark element magic.
