draighox
Bach, Vagner, Debussy were more skilled than Cobain of course, their music is far more complex. But they didn't have bands. When talking about bands, I think, Nirvana is one of the best.
Adelbert
No, you'd have a chamber orchestra.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok then, cut back on a few hundred members, have everyone learn exactly what to play, when to play, have them learn to play guitar, bass and drums, then tell them to start a band and there, you have a band! Glinus
It was Neil Young who paved the foundations of grunge and inspired Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, actually. His extended works with Crazy Horse and Pearl Jam was the invention of grunge, earning him the fitting title; "The Godfather of Grunge". Nirvana were an awesome band, but their best works were not in grunge, but in acoustic (see Nirvana - MTV Live and Unplugged in New York). And Theta hit the nail on the head by pointing out the fact that Nirvana would never have been the success they are if Cobain had not shot himself, their have been bands who have produced just as good music but have not had the same recognition. Both nirvana and Neil Young did much for grunge, and without either of them it wouldn't have made such a succes. And you know, Nirvana was famous even before Kurt died, who hasn't heard of Smells like teen spirit or Come as you are? People like Neil Young and Kurt Cobain really did bring grunge into the public eye, that's true.
