Mod help

Ok, I'm new, I'm half expecting to be flamed, I'm sure this is an obvious question with an obvious explanation, but I sure as hell can't find any answers.

Ok, I have the fresh install of Fallout 3, nothing fancy or extra, WHAT EXACTLY do I need to do to set up the eighty different "unofficial" patches and FOSE/FOMM to get them to run CORRECTLY?

I keep looking and looking and it just gets more and more complicated, I'd like to use all of these overhauls and updated versions of FO3 but almost all of them require FOSE, I can't seem to get FOSE running in concert with everything else, and the whole patch version thing is beyond confusing. As I said, I'm sure there's a simple explanation and I probably just overlooked it, but Please, PLEASE somebody tell me what to do in plain english.

Again, Fresh install, lets say I want to play the Enclave Commander mod, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? I'm reinstalling FO3 for the third time now because I've screwed this up over and over again, so I want to start from scratch and get it straight from the people that do this.

Please help, it'd be much appreciated.

im not familiar with the encalve commander mod, but this might help you out.

http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4325

it has a guide for setting up FOMM, FOSE and i think it includes the fake patch as well.

you dont have to install all the mods it lists, if you dont want say the crippled limbs mod etc.

basically the things you need are the 1.0.15 patch, the fake patch, the unofficial patch, FOMM, FOSE, and archiveinvalidationinvalidated. then load FOMM and check off your mods.

hope that helps a bit.

edit: sorry its early in the morning for me and i just read that back and thought it might seem just as convoluted. if you have any troubles i could try to outline each step for you, but take a look at the links file first and see how far that gets you

Thank you neunen, I'm not sure how I missed that guide but it's absolutely perfect! If you don't have some sort of newbie section set up already, you might want to include a link to that, Plain english (though slightly scathing) makes it great for idiots like me who don't know what they're doing, lol.
