Displaying Collectibles

Ok, so I have downloaded Several mods that allows you to "collect and display" your models and cars. Now in workshop there is a pedestal that says you can display your models, yet after I build it and then place it, I cannot actually add anything to it. The same goes for shelving, I can place one item on the shelf, but when I place another item on it, it stacks on top of the other model. Is there an actual fix for this because I know that in the vanilla game, you had to place models on top of trays to display to stop them from falling through the actual table

And for displays I use the following

Also in my workshop mode, cannot remember exactly where, but there appeared a glass case that says it can display collectable models, but again, once I highlight it and press the button to activate, it won't let me put anything into it.

Functional Displays would likely need a patch to display collectible items from other mods - if it is even possible.

Looking at that mod Requirements tab, it doesn't look like anyone has ever made such a patch to display 3rd party mod items - just used it in their builds to display base game items and items exclusive to that mod.

That is a mod that was made in the earliest days of the games release.
