vveaponx
I've been trying unsuccessfully to figure out why my sound is constantly choppy and out of sorts while listening to music in GNR. Three Dog is fine, when alt-tabbed the music plays fine as well. It's at any other point the music is just frustratingly choppy. I have heard of a codec that supposedly remedies this situation but all the links have been broken and I don't know of where to get the specific codec for Vista 64. :wallbash: I have updated all the drivers for my hardware to no avail. Any help would be great. PS. I have onboard audio sadly - Realtek System: Windows Vista 64-bit Intel Core2Duo E8400 4 gibs of ram Nvidia 780i motherboard EDIT: I did re-install the game (outside of the program files folder) in order to see if a vanilla version of the game would at least point to the problem coming from a mod. Nope. The same old thing.
roguehallow
This may be a dumb question, but you've fixed the GNR antenna, right?
vveaponx
Yes. The issue I'm having is more software related. Many have had this same occurence but sadly I have not been able to find a remedy so I just turn off the radio.
vveaponx
Well I was finally able to fix my issue after reading a post on www.gamefaqs.com by Typheus_Orikoma. I want to thank him for posting that. The CCCP codec pack finally did the trick. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage....;topic=49587900 Maybe this may help some of those who were having the same issue as me . This was his original post. I managed to fix it with the CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) For anyone else with this issue: Try the Vista Codec PackTry the CCCPTry the K-Lite Codec Pack Try Madfilter in combination with these packs Try the Creative Alchemy program, but it is known to make Fallout 3 crash. The solution seems to be different for everyone :/ Hope this helps someone. Good luck.
dpcollier128
I can't seem to get it (the More Where That Came From mod) to work without stuttering; at all. I've tried all these codecs, prepped all the files with the right conversions, I even went through the trouble of switching the .mp3 references in the 100 song plugin to .wav, but still the stuttering was constant. And for some reason, the stuttering only occurred if I was anywhere and not looking at my Pipboy. If I am looking at my Pipboy, the music and news comes in crystal clear. I don't know what's wrong... and I've tried everything I can think of. This has only happened since I've installed the mod. By the way, I am on a windows xp system, and my codecs have not been configured any different than the default, because I don't know what to configure them to to solve this problem and without screwing something else up. I've tried so much to solve this problem; I'm confused and frustrated out of my mind... please help.
