loveme4whoiam
It had to happen, sooner or later. And now it has. Ladies and gentlemen, i would like to present to you the website for the first game (that i know of) set in the Stargate world. Named Stargate SG:1 - The Alliance, it will naturally be an FPS, it is being developed by JoWood, most noted for the average shooter Chaser and several middling RTS's. I, personally, am very, very excited. I have been waiting for this to happen for some time now, and especially now that the FPS is reaching a new zenith, with Pariah and Stalker on the way. My only fear is that it's being made my such a so far par-for-the-course developer like JoWood. I played Chaser, and didn't think much of it. But that was back when two-a-pency FPS's were knocked out every day, and hopefully JoWood will raise its game to fulfill the many desires of the huge Stargate fan base. One thing that is for sure, the storyline will be par excellance, as the writers for the show have not only approved the script, they've written a load of it (or so a writer on a no-descript games forum claims). So, what do you guys think? Will they screw up what deseves to be classic, or can JoWood pull out that masterpice that was waiting to happen? Oh, yes, heres something to whet your appetites... http://www.stargate-thealliance.com/images.../tn_Screen2.jpg Sorry, i can't paste the pic in. Don't know why/how. Here's the official site - http://www.stargate-thealliance.com/main.php?lang=en

Dark0ne
There was a Stargate game for the SNES based on the film which I played a couple of times. Never really got very far! I'll definately follow this one closely.
MDRud216
I think it could be spectacular, but probobly will suck. the best setting would undoubtedly be something similar to the original movie, which was awsome, the series doesn't live up to that at all in my opinion. Icefiddell
I disagree i while the movie was good, ive just came to like the series more especially in later series, it just answers questions the movie didn't and gives a better insight into the Star Gate universe if you know what i mean. But yes i'll definately be watching this one!
Switch
I'm not sure if I will. I liked the film, loved the series, but in my experience games based on films or tv series, tend to suck. But we'll see. :tongue2:
loveme4whoiam
The series have expanded enormously on the film, and have gone in all the right directions to ensure the audience (us) are held throughout - Stargate SG-1 has finally edged out Star Trek The Original Series as my favourite sci-fi programme. I'm not worried by the fact that it is a game based on a tv-series, which are generally rubbish (Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendency) but that JoWood are making it, and so far they haven't had the best pedigree in FPS's. Still, lets hoep they pull it off, because this game deserves to be amazing, if only to do justice to the series. *Runs and hides from the inevitable backlash of saying that SG-1 is better that Star Trek.
