What is a good program for making models and textures

Hi... does anyone know a good program for creating models and textures. I want to make a custon-assault rifle (Mods Don't work) and i still havn't found a program it is very annoying :wallbash: can anyone help me

but if youve never modeled before, expect to do a bit of learning first
