OmnislashVII
So I used getavinfo through the console to see what was going on with my Perception which had seemingly been permanenly reduced to 1. The printout said there was a temporary modifier of -7, but no matter how long I wait or sleep in-game the modifier never seems to go away. Other posts discussing a similar Perception bug say to use the restoreav function to fix the attribute, but that heals damage, not a temporary value. Sure, I could use modav to just set it to what I want, but the minus symbol next to the stat just irritates me. Any advice?
hansen007
Hi, I want to follow up with a similar problem. I'm playing Skyrim, which is not New Vegas but share the same console commands and similar databases. One of the skils, Enchanting, took a temp modifier of -25 out of no reason after I enchanted a couple items in a roll. The effect has still not wear out after hours of gameplay and I'm irritated that I cannot reset my characters or restoreactorvalue or anything to fix it normally. Just to share the pain! twhprox
You can find a gear that modifies said special, and then use a memory editor to modify the temp modifier.Try to find the memory value that has the temporary modifier that is bugged, lets say its value is stuck at 4, you open up cheat engine, select the new vegas process, and look for 4 in the memory. Then you change the value to 6, for instance equipping Elite Riot Helmet. Then you look for the value 6 in the memory. Then its just a matter of equipping, looking for the 6, unequiping, looking for value 4, until you find the adress. Change it to 0 and you're done.Thats how I got rid of that annoying Signal in the Special Window.
