ChebGonaz
Hello everyone, I have a question for Nexus Mods employees: Why hasn't Nexus Mods created a fully-fledged package manager for mods? Similar to apt or snap for Ubuntu, or pip for Python. IIRC Vortex will only warn about missing dependencies, but not actually resolve them. Someone is actually creating one for Morrowind, OpenMW, and a few other games called Portmod. I tried it out and it's really good. You can install mods, and all dependencies, using simple commands like portmod openmw merge put-mod-name-here. It will then, just like any package manager, find and install all dependencies for a mod. The only problem it has is that it's missing a GUI and is thus too intimidating for most users. IDK if it's frowned upon to post a link to my own video on the topic here. Apologies if so. Please inform me and I will edit and remove it. But I think if any company right now has the resources and establishment to really make something like this take off, it would be Nexus Mods. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy_vgOeJ6UM Thanks
