Aranas23
I'm having an issue that I've never come across until now. The audio intended for the player character is completely missing. No footsteps, no grunts, no weapon clashing, even the sound for sheathing and unsheathing is missing. Nothing else seems to be affected, Environmental, music, NPC voices are all still audible. Only the audio normally used for the PC is gone. The make matters stranger is that it doesn't seem to be caused by a mod (or at least plugin based mod.) I removed all my mods, and the problem still remains. I even tried reinstalling Skyrim, and nothing seemed to help. I've been trying and failing to fix this problem for days. Does anyone have any clue what could be causing this?
7531Leonidas
Did you check the skyrim.ini and the skyrimprefs.ini in your documents folder, to make sure they had the proper settings?
anjenthedog
Since I don't see any evidence from your OP post that you have, have you tried adjusting the volume controls in-game, in the settings>>audio mcm?

I don't know of any changes that would have have done to change it. I rarely ever edit the INI's.
Aranas23
Okay, after much trial and error, and research, I finally figured it out. It has something to do with the hard drive I installed it on and it's sector size. Luckily for me and anyone else that might run into this problem, there is already a fix on the nexus for it. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/71567?tab=description
