jayzippo
I am definately an "elf" kind of person. I wish there was a AVERAGE elf, the everyday elf, rather then just the certain types of elf. Dark Elf is definately my favorite, followed closely by Wood Elf. But my usual build or my first build was: WOOD ELFSign of the Lord.Custom ClassSpecialty: Stealth Agility, Speed Blade, Block, Agility, Athleticism, Security, Bow and sneak Essentially an Assassin. When I beat the Game I was level 31, and pretty much unbeatable. My Sneak was like a 130 and I had a 50% Chemialion (sp?) so essentially no one could see me, and I would just have 3-4 SNEAK attacks at 6X. Which killed everything... ZZZZZZZZ SO yeah... capping yourself on some attributes or keeping it real so to speak is essential for long term player usage IMO.
Chaosblade02
OOO=Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, a very popular mod that changes the balance of the game:http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15256 Ok thanks, I did read some of the comments people made about OOO, and personally I got mixed opinions from what I read. I didn't like the idea that some of the level minimums for some of the quests were raised, and the prices for the houses etc. And someone spoke of some of the rates certain skills level at as being changed? The info for the patch was kinda vague, is there a site that I can get a little more info on how and what things this OOO mod changed in the game? I like the idea of some of the dungeons having stronger monsters in them, instead of being entirely level based. That would also mean better drops at lower levels if you could kill them correct? DremoraChurl
I've never bought a house, but OOO gives a lot more money once you get past a certain point; to be honest I don't like it (eg amazons give ridiculous loot). I can tell you about OOO. Apart from fixing the levels of enemies (and yes the loot), the author was obsessive about Oblivion, and handtweaked lot of things across cyrodil, for example you'll notice different armor on Captain Renault and the leader of the Mage's Guild. Starsigns and Armor mastery perks are balanced, and lots of neat mods are bundled in (harvest flora, which I say is essential, colored potions, lock bashing, and more).OOO is harder than vanilla. You can't go just anywhere, and I guess what jades a lot of people is that you might bump into a mature slaughterfish before you've even swam over to Vilverin. Inside vilverin, a new character won't be able to venture to the very end (lower floors = stronger mobs). There are bad sides. OOO does not cover shivering isles. By OOO default, levelling is wayyy slower - watch what options you choose when you install. With the final version of OOO (1.33), you aren't given any of the spare .esps to change your options, eg if you want to change between Full and Lite, or if you want to change just one Lite option, or one external option (eg the levelling rate). You basically have to reinstall OOO. The easiest way to find the latest and complete(single download) OOO is on planetelderscrolls. Just search "1.33". I think ill pass on OOO, at least for the time being, I don't really prefer mods that completely alter the game, especially in ways that I might not like. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm completely bored with vanilla yet. When I do ill give OOO a shot. Oh and my new Archer build is going reasonably well. I do regret not giving him apprentice sign, I picked thief sign instead. Hes breton and similar build as the one in my first post except bow instead of blade. He lacks magicka for the master level destruction spells. I can't get many of them off. Personally I think if you are going to use spells as your primary form of damage it is still better to pick mage or apprentice sign over thief. And bow does not do enough damage on its own to kill stuff in hard mode. Unless you want every single fight to be an epic one. Hes level 18 ATM, and bow skill is still not maxed out, but destruction is. I had to lower the bar back down to center as a result of having a lack of damage and a lack of ability to be able to deal a consistent amount of damage in long fights without running completely dry, in hard mode sometimes you gotta pack a lunch for fights, and if you can't you get owned. Once I max restoration I should be fine for hard mode.
