Ok heres my current specs:

AMD Phenom II x4 980 (3.7 default speed) (4.4 overclocked) - Water cooled
8gb Corsair XMS3 2000mhz Memory - Air cooled w/ Thermalrite HR-07
Nvidia GTX560 (850/2004 default speed) (960/2245 overclocked) Air cooled w/ Logisys Dracula cooler
Thermalrite heatpipe cooling towers on N. & S. Bridges + mosfets
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Mobo
750 Ultra PSU
Black Ice Gen 2 Extreme 360 Radiator
MCP355 Pump w/ XSPC acrylic top

I'm gonna O/C and water cool either one I get but I can't decide between the 2. One is faster, one has a gig more memory. I play Skyrim with lots texture mods installed. What would you guys get?

Before I bought either one, I would check Newegg's price. That being said, I personally would the one with the best cooler. If you are looking just for Skyrim, get the 770. Don't dismiss AMD Radeon out of hand, newer console ports will be from Radeon graphic cards.

Get the 3GB 780.

Skyrim will crash if it passes 3.1GB of RAM use, and since Skyrim is in DX9, that means RAM will mirror VRAM.

In other words, you will never use 4GB of VRAM in Skyrim without the game crashing first. You'll be better off going with the 3GB 780.

Really, a 770 would choke before you even use 4GB of VRAM. It's kind of pointless for a single screen.
