Konin Posted June 1, 2009 Share Posted June 1, 2009 So basically my game crashes almost constantly. Sometimes I can play for an hour or so, sometimes it'll last five minutes before it goes down. But for certain, the game -will- crash. Not quite sure why but I can hazard a guess that some mods are interfering with each other. What I'd like to do is give a list of the mods I use and see if any more savvy folk can spot a problem. But hopefully someone knows whats causing the problem. The last thing I want to do is have to do a clean wipe of all the mods and uninstall+reinstall Fallout and spend the next three days finding all the mods again. C6Aviation Posted June 1, 2009 Share Posted June 1, 2009 My god you have a ton of mods. I'm running the DLC's, 20th Cent, Human Catapult and a couple of terminals. The crashes bug me too...Thing is, I don't think any of my mods are causing it. My game was ALWAYS crashy, atleast since installing the DLC's. Perhaps the 1.5 patch is the culprit? When I was just running Fallout 3, no 1.5, no DLC, no mod, it was quite stable. Edit: It seems I have broken, hopelessly no less, the Citadel. As in, trying to enter it = crash EVERY time. Even with a known good configuration, it crashes. bnaothjnl. Sometimes, I HATE Fallout 3...arg, now I have to reinstall the game. Edit 2: Above applies only to the character I've been playing. You have a few ESMs that are loaded after their ESPs.If this drops down and you figure out how to fix it yourself, please PM me. I have a similiar error, sometimes 5min, sometimes straight away, sometimes an hour. I find that certain internal cells can do it, such as little shacks. Shishkabob Posted June 1, 2009 Share Posted June 1, 2009 If you are running the official 1.5 patch, do yourself a favor and download FO3Edit off the nexus. This little program has some flagging functionality built in to it that allows it to add a esm flag to all your esp files. Basically allowing the 1.5 exe to stop having a hernia with mods and play well together. Instructions should be posted, but essentially you download and rename the FO3edit.exe to FO3masterupdate.exe and run it. It really fixed up my game. I was crashing randomly just wandering about. Crashed while entering interior cells and crashed while saving (that was my favorite!) Now I haven't had a crash in a good long while. One last thing...once you reflag your esp's to esm's you'll have to repeat the process for each new mod you add at a later date. Small price to pay to remove crashes. Also might want to look at FOMS (Fallout Mod Sorter) very useful but not perfect for load order. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Still a bit testy, but after reorganizing all the mods and finding the places where they try to fight each other and fixing it. It works a bit better now. What I did was get all the DLC and mainfiles to load first, then all of fook, then all of MMM, and finally the misc. mods. So far it works fine...and a LOT faster loading time. Watch out for the cpu usage and some program interfering your fo3. If you windowed it and check your low right it will appear an FFA blue box, should it run two, turn one of. check your mb usage and also... while downloading it's the same as installing...defragment might help and cleaning up temp doc would also does...notice...this is an basic way. some time i use dark magic trick help programe such as running window update at the same time with fo3, it last for like 2 days with my pc up running with it. :wallbash: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
