Can somebody make a Return To Lothering mod. I think it would be really cool. I think that others will also like to play it to. Maybe we can get rid of all the Darkspawn there and than villagers will start to return. Also if you forgot to get Sten or Leliana or both than you can retrieve them. I don't know,.. just something i've been thinking about that I wanted. Not good with modding but if I was ill do it myself. So maybe one of you reading this can make it and post it on dragon age nexus.

I'd fully support this. Except, if you forget to grab Sten.. then he stay gone. If you remember, he's locked in a cage unless you manage to free him. Should you not do any of that, then by default he'd presumably die.. considering he wanted to welcome his death in the first place.

 

Leliana, on the other hand. She's a fireball. Give a chance to recruit her a second time. Her reasons for surviving? Her skills that she learned from Marjolaine. She's become the impromptu leader of the surviving cell in Lothering that has been fighting off the Darkspawn.

 

The objective would be to clear out the remains of the Darkspawn, and perhaps bump in to a few of the survivors, and possibly Leliana herself, hinting at possibly recruiting her again, depending on your actions.

 

I think this would be an excellent mod to add to the game. I know I'D love to play something like this, and as the OP stated, I'm sure others would be interested in doing this too.

Of course anyone who has enough interest in the game to be looking for mods has probably played at least once. So they probably already know about Leli and Sten, and that they have to recruit them the first time 'round.

 

Sooooo... The only people who would actually benefit from this mod are those who are meta-gaming the entire experience! :tongue:

 

(Which doesn't mean it isn't a valid request, just that the potential audience is relatively small.)

I'm creating mods to add Companions and will eventually add quests. Gee, maybe one of the quests will be to return to Lothering. Let me see if this Frodo4896 is someone that I could work with on this.

I actually had a pretty good reason. But it seems that I just wasted my time looking into whether or not this project was worth my time. :rolleyes: You don't appear to be someone that I would want to work with.

Frodo4896 is no longer an active account on Nexus. If someone POLITE wants to suggest this idea someone might consider it. There are fewer people writing mods for DAO than there were in the past and they may want a better idea of what the specific concept is that you are trying to achieve.

 

I'm not saying that the mod would definitely be created, but I know that I would certainly take the request more seriously.

A return-to-Lothering has always been high on my "I wish this were in the game" list, especially after I saw that some form of that was considered for vanilla. (There are some files for the area in the toolset... "haunted Chantry", maybe?)

I'll certainly consider a 'Return to Lothering' if/when I get to the point of adding Quests. I don't like to promise something that I'm not sure I can deliver.

 

Spiders and Knives SEEMS (I haven't played it) to add a haunted house quest to Lothering. Or there are a couple of 'haunted house' type quests in the Pints and Quarts mod.

 

I would think that a 'return to Lothering' mod would be more of a rescue of any farmers, merchants, refugees that hadn't made it out of Lothering or killing darkspawn. Karma's Companions has (I THINK) a quest to return to Lothering already so I would definitely want to check with her to confirm compatibility. For example, if her mod uses the town of Lothering and existing NPCs; a new "Return to Lothering" might rescue farmers from an outlying area. Or the GW et al might rescue the refugees while merchants and NPCs that are in Karma's quest are going to stay a bit longer. There are multiple ways that the concept could be done.
