Worn Headgear changes Body Shape in Creation Kit and Ingame

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

i have a serious problem and i don't know what to do anymore. I'm working on a mod, that changes the outfits of a few NPCs so that they use modded gear, instead of lame vanilla stuff. Thing is, when i give a helmet or a gasmask or anything head-related to a NPC, the shape of the body changes which results in a large gap around the neck area. This does not happen with vanilla helmets and it is very noticeable when they are naked and just wearing a piece of headgear, but it might also occurs when they wear a full outfit- what is the culprit here? I use the correct body slots and outfit mods from various authors, so it isn't their fault i guess. Could really use some advice here.

Thanks in advance

Hello. If the shape of the body changes, you are probably using slot 33. Slots must be correctly specified in Armor, and in ArmorAddon. Also, I don't know how exactly you add your nif. Hats are added to os by simply red-weighting the head bone, with BaseMaleHead, or BaseFemaleHead. All in all. 1. Import your nif into os. 2. Import BaseMaleHead. 3. Open the bones, color the Head bone red. Remove BaseMaleHead. Export nif to your data/meshes folder. Open ck. Add your nif to ArmorAddon. Add your item to Armor and a link to ArmorAddon. Add a recipe. That's how it's done.

Well, i did just that. Multiple times. Colored the head bone red. Exported the nif. Added the nif using slot 30 and 46- just like the vanilla combat helmet. The body still changes it's shape...

I don't know then. Maybe you put some clothes in the inventory of the characters along with this helmet, or did they already have it in their inventory? The bodies have to come from somewhere. I've never had problems adding clothes, so it's hard to give a correct conclusion for such a strange error.
