Console commands for merchants Caps

Does anybody have a console command to increase a merchant's amount of caps? I've looked all over, at the official wiki and others, and I've found a ton of commands, but not one to increase a merchant's caps. I've also tried using setbartercaps (which wasn't even recognized) and setbartergold, but neither of them work.

PS- I posted this in the spoilers section because I figured it could potentially spoil the game for someone. If I posted in the wrong section, my apologies.

Well, I haven't tried this, but it should work. First you need to target the merchant in question. Either open console and click on them, or use the command 'prid [ref id]' for that merchant.

Then 'additem f [amount of caps]'. F is the base id for caps, and additem adds an item to a targeted NPC's inventory.

However, when their inventory resets those extra caps should go away. Of course, if you're just doing it to unload gear and the merchant doesn't have enough to buy it all, then this will work. If you're trying to permanently increase the amount of caps a merchant carries... I don't think a console command can do that. You'd need a mod for that.

Edited to correct a command.

Got ya, thanks. I tried this and it worked, unfortunately before I read your post, so while you didn't directly help me figure it out, I do still appreciate your taking the time to answer my question. And you are correct, their caps reset when their inventory resets, but that's ok because also like you said, I'm just doing it to unload loot without having to travel to every merchant in the wasteland. Thanks again, Kudos.
