Using poses from "pose packs" for idle anims?

I'd really like to be able to use some of the weapon poses i find (from the CT_addposev1 collection for example) as the in-inventory 1h/2h idle animations. I've tried just replacing the file but this just results in a blank idle anim. How do I adapt these poses to work as idles?

Is it in the right folder? It need to be in meshes\characters\_male and have the right name (which depends on the weapon type).

yep, named it onehandidle.kf and threw it in that folder. i did a lot of testing with it and it appears that the only kf files that don't give me the default standing blank idle are ones that were designed by other mods specifically for the weapon idle (i.e. the idles from the DMC stylish mod). However, any idle designed to be in the _male folder seems to work. I can interchange the 1H and 2H animations with eachother, etc., but as soon as i grab something from the idleanims or specialanims folder (or from a pose pack thats designed to be used with a crystal ball) and try to use it in _male renamed to be a weapon idle, it gives me that default standing pose.

 

for some reason the .kf files only work in the folder they're supposed to be in, regardless of whether or not you rename it. I think the .kf files may be configured already with the conditions in which they are played?? I thought that was only done in the construction set via an .esp, but idk.
