LE3 (Modded) - Crash on Loading Priority: Geth Dreadnaught

Howdy,

 

I am currently playing through LE3, so far with 0 issues, until I go to start Priority: Geth Dreadnaught. It will let me select my squad, pick weapons, and place squad points. Then I hit continue and it shows the Normandy splash loading screen and then goes black when a cinematic should be playing. I can't close out of the game unless I ctrl-alt-del.

 

I tried loading my saves in a vanilla LE3 to get around it (like I did with a bug in LE2), but the game crashes immediately. I tried reinstalling a single mod at a time and loading the saves but they wouldn't work unless I had all the mods that the saves were created with. And after a couple of clean reinstalls and redownloading of mods, the game consistently crashes at this point while leaving me free to roam the rest of the map. I went and did some of the Shore Leave DLC to try to change the order up but still crashing at Priority: Geth Dreadnaught. So, unfortunately, I'm kind of pinned to either fixing it with the current mods or just starting over and determining whatever incompatibility exists and avoiding it next time around.

I know I am a few months late but I had the same issue and thought I would post my solution for you or anyone else who is still looking for a fix. It seems that Appearance Modification Menu is the culprit. I reloaded my save with everything but AMM enabled and it stopped crashing. Hopefully this helps!
