A Little help for a total Mod idiot?

I need some help with some mods that seem to have some conflicts, hopefully you guys can help.

A little info about my system:

First off, running Vista. I'm also using OMOD to install.

Oblivion is installed to C:\Oblivion, and UAC is disabled.

I'm patched and don't have Shivering Isles.

I'm trying to run Raven Elves (http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22838).

I checked the requirements for this mod, which are HGEC (http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15802) and MaleBodyReplacerv4 (http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1494).

Now, the issue I'm having is such:

I can install HGEC just fine, absolutely no problems. MaleBodyReplacer, however, is turning out a lot of problems. I've installed HGEC, then when I try to install MaleBodyReplacer, I get the following error:

Warning:

textures\characters\imperial\headhuman.dds already exists, and CRCs do not match. Currently associated omods: HGEC Body 1.2.omod

Overwrite?

I've tried both ways (overwriting and not overwriting after a clean uninstall of both mods), and installing Dark Elves with both methods (again, with aa clean uninstall over both attempts) and when I get to character creation, I have some serious problems:

Eyes on all races are either completely black or missing altogether, some races when selected show nothing at all, and the Raven Elf race is not even selectable.

I've not tried Wyre Bash; I'm leery to use it due to its sheer complexity.

Sorry if this is a total noob problem that has an easy solution... but I hope someone can help me out with this one, has me stumped for the past two days. :wallbash:

I don't know too much about new races and body problems but I will try help.

First, my possible fix requires that you get Wrye Bash plus another small mod tool, BOSS.

1 ) Install BOSS and Wrye Bash.

2 ) Install HGEC, MaleBodyReplacer and Raven Elves, in that order (if asked to overwrite files, click yes).

3 ) Run BOSS, so that your mods are arranged in the proper load order.

4 ) Install the Bashed Patch, following the instructions in the Wrye Bash readme.

5 ) While Wrye Bash is open, right-click on the Bashed Patch and click on "Rebuild Patch".

6 ) Click on "Merge Patches" on the left then put a check in everything on the right and on Merge Patches.

7 ) All the other options on the left might get a bit daunting, I suggest you use discretion as to what you want. Follow the instructions under 6 for all items related to body, eyes, hair, etc

8 ) Rebuild the patch!

I hope this helps you.

Well, apparently you do know a lot about Race and Body problems, because your fix worked exactly as it should have! Thanks so much for the help!!!

Sorry to interrupt, but the subject heading fitted perfectly with my problem.

I'm following the creature meshes 101 tutorial available on the elder scrolls construction wiki, an run into some difficulties not explained in the tutorial. I wonder if i could be pointed in the right direction?

I've installed Blender, nifskope and the blender nif scripts as per tutorial, I also installed python and PyFFI which is apparently required by blender. I am pretty sure i have the correct versions of everything, but i am unable to import the nif model into blender that the tutorial says to.

Below in bold is a short exact from the tutorial describing what should be done. the tutorial is available at http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...ture_Meshes_101

The Blender export scripts are configured to export Morrowind .nifs, version 4.0.0.2, not the required 20.0.0.4 version. Oblivion uses .nif version 20.0.0.5 actually, that's one reason you can't use the exported .nifs directly but have to put your mesh into existing .nifs.

* open Blender

* in Blender, set window type to Scripts Window (leftmost button in the 3D viewport, where you set UV Editor)

* Scripts>System>Script Config Editor

* set the nif version value to 20.0.0.4

* apply, exit

* switch the window type back to 3D view

[edit] Skinning the model

Enough preparations now. Let's actually do something:

* Blender is still opened

* load the goat model

* switch to wireframe view (ZKEY)

* in the menu, File>Import>NetImmerse/Gamebryo

* chose cleanskel.nif

first of all, in blender, scripts>system>script config editor does not seem to have anywhere to change the nif version value.

secondly when i try to import the nif file file>import>netimmerse/gambryo i get an error saying that pyFFI cannot be found. The console output say "make sure PyFFI is in the python directory". I have checked this to no avail.

Because im a noobie following a tutorial my modding has come to a grinding halt.

Does any one have any advice please?

Advice

It would be better to start a new topic. Tagging your problem onto the end of someone elses post will just get it lost or ignored.

And it is against the rules (thread hijacking)

To start a new topic, look in either the upper right, or lower right corner of the page and click on new topic.

As the original problem has been fixed, I am going to close this one to avoid having 2 open topics on the same subject.
